About the host
Hello, my name is Lydia,
Riding The Trauma Train was created due to my own healing journey.
I am a survivor of childhood trauma & was trying to find my own path, as a working mum of two beautiful girls, devoted wife of over *cough* 2 decades. With a household to run, a day job & my own fitness goals.
I was still being triggered by my own trauma daily, I was lost.
For a long time, I thought healing meant pushing harder, coping better, being “fine”. But trauma doesn’t work like that.
It lives in the body, in patterns, and in the way your nervous system learns to protect you.
I wanted to create a space where people would feel less alone on their journey, whether that is healing from trauma, works stresses, anxiety or everyday life stresses, when we go through this we feel isolated. Riding the Trauma Train is not just a podcast, its connection.
Remember, wherever you are on your journey right now, you are not alone!
Riding the Trauma Train began because I needed something I couldn’t always find: a space that tells the truth and still feels hopeful.
About the Podcast
A place where we can talk about triggers, survival responses, boundaries, shame, self-trust, and rebuilding a relationship with yourself, gently.
I’m doing this because I believe recovery shouldn’t feel lonely or confusing, and because you deserve support that’s compassionate, realistic, and steady.
However, some episodes may feel more triggering as we talk about highly sensitive topics, please listen with care and feel free to pause, skip, or come back when you feel ready.
In this podcast, you’ll find:
- Honest conversations about trauma and healing, without toxic positivity
- Gentle, practical steps you can try in everyday life reminders that your responses make sense
- A steady message you can come back to
- Healing with an air of humour, because some days if we don't laugh, we'll cry (which is also fine)
- Advice from practitioners & survivors, true lived experiences
